EzraCard Edge Spraying Services

for Custom Playing Cards、Tarot & Ocacle Decks、TCG、Instruction/Books

Create a matte, lightly frosted edge on tarot cards, oracle decks, and other custom card products. After the edges are polished, spraying equipment applies an even layer of colour to the exposed card edges.

What Is Edge Spraying?

Edge Spraying is a finishing process that applies paint to the exposed edges of a trimmed and stacked card deck. The edges are polished first, then spraying equipment applies the selected colour evenly across the card block.

The result is a matte surface with a lightly frosted texture. Unlike Edge Gilding, Edge Spraying does not use metallic foil and does not create a reflective metallic edge.

The final appearance depends on the paint system, edge preparation, cardstock, colour, coating coverage, and application settings. The same colour may look different on smooth, textured, light, or dark card stock.

Edge Spraying FAQs

Edge Spraying applies paint to the exposed edges of a trimmed and stacked card deck. The edges are polished first, then spraying equipment applies the selected colour evenly across the card block.

Edge Spraying creates a matte appearance with a lightly frosted texture. It does not have the reflective metallic shine of Edge Gilding. The final feel depends on the paint system, cardstock, and edge preparation.

Yes. Edge Spraying is often selected for tarot and oracle decks when a soft, matte coloured edge is preferred over a reflective metallic finish.

Colour selection depends on the available paint range, cardstock, artwork, and production requirements. A colour swatch or physical sample should be used when the edge needs to match the deck design closely.

Not always. Card thickness, edge texture, absorbency, preparation, and paint coverage can affect colour density and surface texture. The selected cardstock should be tested before production.

It can influence how the card block feels when handled, but shuffle performance also depends on the card stock, thickness, surface coating, cutting accuracy, and deck construction. A finished sample gives the most reliable result.

Some combinations are possible, depending on the cardstock, coating, artwork, and production sequence. Confirm compatibility when combining Edge Spraying with lamination, varnish, foil, or other finishes.

Yes. A physical sample lets you check colour, coverage, matte texture, edge consistency, and handling feel on the actual deck construction.
